
Mpho Hlongwa is a recent graduate who has just completed a degree in Political Sciences, International Relations and German at the University of Pretoria. She is currently a Youth Presenter at Elevate Education – an NGO based in the United Kingdom and Australia – where she evaluates and presents study skills to high schools in Pretoria and Johannesburg. Mpho has extensive experience with international organisations. In 2009, she was selected to represent South Africa at a two-week youth and reconciliation program called the Regenbogen Projekt in Poland and Germany. In 2013, she lived and worked in Hamburg with a German volunteering agency called Diakonisches Werks & FSJ. Thereafter, Mpho participated in three international youth conferences with Cultur Cooperation in Berlin and Denmark. She is one of the supporting founders of a church youth holiday program called KidsWeek, which was established in 2008 for migrants and disadvantaged people. Currently, Mpho is the Founder and Chairperson of the Youth For Africa Foundation – a student advocacy group at TUKS that works with students from different faculties and high schools. Through the ASRI Future Leaders Programme, Mpho aspires to gain effective knowledge in skills regarding project management, and hopes to network and exchange knowledge and ideas with Fellows with whom she is honoured and excited to work.
