Ebrahim Mthokozisi Maseko is an Imaam at the Rockville Masjid in Soweto. He is an Islamic Scholar by profession, and is also furthering his Honours degree in Islamic Studies at the University of Johannesburg. He had previously served as an Imaam in Lotus Gardens, Pretoria for two years before moving on to his current Masjid in Rockville. He is a member of the Gauteng Shurah Council where he is currently Secretary of the Ulama Council Committee. He is also a member of Qaswatul Islam, his local Masjid organisation, where he is an Islamic Advisor. Through the ASRI Future Leaders Programme, he aspires to develop and equip himself with social management skills that will enable him to work more effectively within South Africa’s diverse society. He hopes to bring about change while also enhancing his skills to better work within the organisations in which he is currently involved.
