ASRI is a cornerstone of wisdom and intelligence. This is one institute that is in the driver’s seat of change. Through it, I was able to meet like-minded young people who want nothing but the best for this country. Moreover, the facilitators’ insights are on the next level. I’ve learned so much about communication, politics, business, religion, friendships, and the true meaning of unity.
When I began with the fellowship programme I was always nervous to speak because of new faces and new environment, thus I became less confident and worst in articulating. It was the first time I found myself between people of different skin color to mine. At some point, I felt like quitting because I thought I didn’t belong. But few weeks went by and I started to open up slowly. I appreciate the fact that I was listened to every time I was given a chance to speak. My opinions mattered. As such, gradually a became openly confident and expressive.
As a pack, we were led by facilitators who walked the talk. Unlike many leaders, they taught us what they knew and lived. I’ve learned a great deal from them.
Through ASRI I was able to meet speakers I never thought I would. They invited speakers who held great interest and vast experience in their fields of work. Their breathtaking lectures came in handy.
I was in the presence of mind-blowing youngsters who are hungry to transform this country for the better. I was inspired to get out of my comfort zone. This is one everlasting experience.
If anything, I’d go for the second round (LOL). I wish all the best to the upcoming team.
